- You can call into the show, and vaguely interact by requesting songs.

Reception theory: Stuart Hall says there to be three ways in which a message can be decoded by the audience: preferred, negotiated and oppositional reading, The Encoding/decoding model.

Ideology - The message or view held by the producer of a media product.



Late Night Women's Hour


A spin-off from Women's Hour on Radio 4, albeit irregularly, late at night. Its unique selling point is that it is somewhat more niche, edgy than the regular show.


The preferred reading of LNWH is to provoke a number of responses from the listener.
